Arse cracks at playgroup.....come on now ladies

I could have put together quite an intriguing anatomical study from the sheer number, volume and variety of women's arse cracks on show at DS's playgroup today.

I'm intrigued as to how much we A. Know it's happening, but WTF, it's playgroup. B. Have no clue. C. Didn't realise that these normal waisted jeans would be strained so low when we knelt down and worshipped at the altar of soft mats and broken, grubby toys with long dead batteries inside.

I think it's time we all took a good hard look at our jeans and realised that (for the most part), regardless of cut or style, they are impractical, and in some cases, downright indecent for two hours spent on our knees in a public place.

Lol. I quite agree. I've been very conscious of my arse crack recently. What is the solution though?

southeastastra · 14/01/2009 19:47

we need jeans that are normal rise again. though i live in my 501s

FaintlyMacabre · 14/01/2009 19:50

At least longer tunic-style tops or dresses over jeans are in now, and not those skimpy short tops which managed to reveal arse cracks and muffin-tops

Sycamoretree · 14/01/2009 19:52

Well, the ONLY ladies who weren't showing at least the very tip of their arse crack, rather than a full gully, were definitely in jeans that went around their tummy WITH belt.

I don't have any low rise jeans since my first c-section but IMO anything that still leaves your tummy button on show whilst standing is going to seriously embarrass you at playgroup.

I think long tops are the way forward - I'm favouring long vests underneath shorter tops...

yeuch! another reason not to go to a play group

FrannyandZooey · 14/01/2009 19:54

god, i wear a tunic top most days and am STILL in danger of showing my arse to the world
not being a biffer helps
so does not wearing your baby in a sling

hifi · 14/01/2009 20:47

a girdle is the answer i think, do they still sell them?

a really pale arse crack is the most offensive i think.

differentID · 14/01/2009 20:49

I'm assuming all you lovely ladies actually wear undercrackers with your low rise jeans? Unlike the delightful sight I saw at work yesterday. Any lower and I swear the world would have had a nice view of her fanjo.

Kbear · 14/01/2009 20:51

Is there anything worse than arse crack view AND grey thong thing?

differentID · 14/01/2009 20:52

please see post above!

Kbear · 14/01/2009 20:53

ah, yes, there is something worse!!

hifi · 14/01/2009 20:58

I wish someone would bring back proper trousers that do up at the waist rather than the bikini line.

Breezy bum cracks and droopy drawers, they do my head in!

RaspberryBlower · 14/01/2009 21:13

hifi - I'm not putting fake tan on my arse crack to make it less offensive.

DesperateHousewifeToo · 14/01/2009 21:17

Thought you had been eyeing up my bottom at nursery there sycamoretree, then realised you were talking about playgroup. Phew!

I'm always well covered. Have very attractive couple of inches of knicker usually showing above the jeans

I get more worried about flashing what is down the front of my top when I bend over

hifi · 14/01/2009 21:19

raspberry,yabu, make the effort fgs.

hifi · 14/01/2009 21:20

i always have the urge to shove a pencil down a crack.

Mooseheart · 14/01/2009 21:23

Sorry Raspberry but putting fake tan on your arse crack will make it look infinitely more offensive

Sycamoretree · 14/01/2009 21:25

Desperate, LOL! Well, I am one of the guilty arse crackers, hence the sudden realisation that this is an EPIDEMIC! Honestly, every one of us, with the exception of a few grandmas where mooning to all and sundry. Most undignified [prim emoticon].

I introduced tabards at my setting because I couldn't think of a polite way to say to the staff that I did not wish to see their bare backsides on a daily basis

cyanarasamba · 14/01/2009 21:36

This was pretty exciting, spotted yesterday at Under 5's. Actually it was lime green and a little more frilly....

hifi · 14/01/2009 21:37

tabards are a great idea.it could be the answer to all outfit problems, just stick your tabard on.

Sycamoretree · 14/01/2009 22:02

Oo-er Cyan - razzle dazzle.

LOL, I was caught revealing something not dissimilar to, of all people, my sisters FIL at Christmas lunch while scrabbling around on the floor picking up DS's discarded bits of broccoli and potato .

In my defence, they were a full brief, but a bow was in evidence. What can I say - they were my xmas pants and by god I was going to wear them!

differentID · 14/01/2009 22:03

lol. As long as arse-acrage is covered then fine!
