How bad is out of date houmus? (given to a 22 mo?)

I've just gone to make DD's lunch for tomorrow. The brand new sealed pot of houmus I went out for especially was still in the bag in the hall and the only pot in the fridge said best before 30 Dec. I must have used that this morning

If it was going to make DD ill would she already have been sick?

Probably, but you should just keep an eye on her tonight and tomorrow as well I think to be on the safe side. It's not the worst thing to eat out of date though is it?

It's only chickpeas - if it wasn't actually mouldy it's probably fine. I think if she was going to be sick it would be within four hours or so, but don't quote me on that.

No it wasn't mouldy (I hope I'd have noticed if it was, even 1/2 asleep).

Thanks.
