Coronation Street - new thread

I thought as the old one was called something about Richard's latest victim, it might be time to move on to a 'new era'!

I have been wondering whether Martin and Katy get it together. They have been getting on very well and he is about the only male she has had a smile for on the Street. Also, he has had no romantic interest for ages. It might be a big 'schoolgirl and older man' shock story line. What does anyone else think?

She got the "I can't" bit right, I remember doing that one. Someone should have told her though that she would never push a baby out by lifting her bum in the air. It was all a bit graphic really, I was just waiting for the embarrassing questions from DS who happened to be watching (I can't send him to bed so early).

Does anyone else get brassed off with Kieron's (or however he spells it) accent and general blarney? I was hoping he'd fall off the ladder last night never to be seen again. I know Dev has been a bit of a toad in the past but now that he is a reformed character I'm sure he is much better suited to Sunita.

The Nanny's voice irritates me too! And isn't Candice such a little tart, not to mention Maria the shameless hussy!

You're right, of course, why shouldn't she be bottlefeeding, it's just that she was doing it so ineptly that she really drew attention to it. There was no need for her to feed at all, she could have just been sitting there, and then some poor baby wouldn't have had to go through that.

I must admit I did comment to dh about how long her contractions lasted for. I remember slightly for then 2 seconds between and remember being in so much pain that I didn't know my own name let alone have a conversation through the hard bits.

I think Sunita is very pretty, but when she does the profile look, mmm big nose indeed.

I am glad that Steve and Karen get back together, I think they are brill together and remind me of my dh and I when we row.

I think Roy is really fab, really makes me laugh, especially when he asked Steve to drive him around so he could observe and then fault him.

Used to really hate Tracey, but think she is growing on me.

Glad to see the back of Curly and Emma, needs a few new characters.

The bottle feeding bit bothered me aswell actually. Something didn't look quite right did it? Can't quite put my finger on it .... maybe it was the old fashioned bottle with the old rubber teat.

And yes Todd does turn out to be gay - he falls in love with Sara Lou's brother Nikki apparantly!

AND Tracy beds Roy. (CRINGE!!!) Poor Roy!

Tracy bedding Roy is VERY far fetched. Roy would run a mile. Perhaps she drugs him. Poor Hayley - she'll be gutted. Coronation Street is not the place to live if you want a happy marriage!

Although I find Tracy really annoying, I find Maria the worst. She really needs a good slap. And Betty Turpin and Emily Bishop should be killed off - they get 1 line each per episode if they are lucky.

Anyone else glad that the Peter / Shelley / Lucy will finally come to a head in tonights hour episode. I have seen a pic in the paper where Shelley is hitting Peter with her flowers but I know that they filmed 3 endings.
At least the storyline where Tracey and Roy is a little more believable now, so she drugs him and just wakes up next to him and told him she slept with him, when in truth thats all she actually did. Who next Archie Shuttlecock?

I don't have a nose like that, but then again I am not on the telly. I am sure if she had a designer dress on she would love to be talked about, she is in the spotlight and it goes with the territory. What do they say something like its better to be talked about then not.

Bit of an anti climax with the Shelley storyline though.

Ok Here comes the geek part, I noticed in the Tv guide that Ciaran proposed to Sunita with his jacket on and in the programme it was without his jacket. I need to get out more I know.

Maybe I'm more of a geek but I can explain that one Breeze. He went down on one knee to propose to her and she shouted at hime to get up, they talked a bit, he gave her his jacket and then he proposed. I wish Fizz would smack Ciaron, he makes me cringe and I think the new Dev is much better suited to Sunita.
