My keyboard is recoveringfrom an Orange juicespill lastweekend. Onlythe spacebar seemstobe affected. It sticks andonlyworks if I really bash it. so it looks like I am writing in code. Can this be fixed....by me? by a store.....or will I haveto buy a new keyboard...its an iMac keyboard. Maybe it will loosen up with use?

Any ideas?

bobbins, can you make an insurance claim? My toddler widdled on my laptop keyboard and I made a claim through my household insurance. The laptop was taken away to be examined. It couldn't be economically repaired so I was given money to buy a replacement (new!!!). Not much hassle at all. I put the money towards a new PC set up from Dell. It arrived yesterday and it is fantastic!!!!

To be honest, basic keyboards aren't that expensive - even if it is covered under household insurance it probably isn't worth the aggro of claiming for it and then having them put up the premium next year! Now a laptop ruined... yes that would be worth it

Go to here to see keyboard prices.
I'm not posting an advert - so buy one wherever you want, but don't be afraid of the cost. If you get one from a shop, doubtless it'll be dearer, but they'll be able to confirm that it will match your pc.

If you do give it a good soak, you could use a hairdryer to dry it. I spilt tea in mine a while ago and it got a bit stiff, but it worked itself free.
