Builders: would you have them in your house 7 days a week?

We have been having our attic re-vamped with an ensuite. Initially we were told by the builder that the work would take 2 weeks 2 days. So far it's taken 3 weeks and 3 days including saturdays. Now that the work is running behind schedule the builder has informed me that he would like to come in both sat & sun mornings. I told dh and he said no to Sunday as he wants to relax. Relayed this to the builder who has just replied with ' well it's not like I want to come here on my Sunday anyway'. Dh is ready to have it out with them, but I want the job completed without any friction. Would you allow them to work on Sundays as well?

Perrsonally, I would have them in on the Sunday, as soon as its done then they will be gone. I understand a lot of people see Sunday as a day of rest, but for the sake of getting the work done, I would have them in.

I would have them in on Sunday as well, to get it finished as quickly as possible. I hated having my house taken over by builders and was delighted when they finally went. I'm not particularly house proud, but I really felt the need to clean up the dust - it got everywhere. Could you relax somewhere else for the day? Good luck with getting it all finished anyway.

I know your both right and I should have them in on the Sunday, but they have been so slack and suddenly now they want the job finished we have to accomodate. If they'd not knocked off early for St Patricks day then they might be closer to finishing! Sorry to moan, but they get on my nerves. Too many errors - they even bought the wrong size door and miscalculated the tiles, luckily enough the shop had one box left.

In on Sunday so they've finished- THEN I would relax. Building work always takes longer than they say. Nightmare.
