...and its lovely and heartwarming

in july my lovely lovely gran passed away, and she had a beautiful walnut verneer (? sp) wardrobes and dressing table (my mum and dad bought the set but had fitted wardrobes so they had tegh bed and side tables and my gran managed to hoof the wardrobes and table

they have sat in her bedroom after she had gone, and my uncle who lived there too might be moving soon, so today i rang him up and said 'i've heard you miught be on the move, if you aren't wanting grans wardriobes can i have them, i'll buy them!" (in a veeery veeeery slowly putting hand toward pocket sort of gesture!! ) and my uncle said'have them, with pleasure!' i'm sooooooooo chuffed! they are gooooorgeouuuusss (got glass fronted wooden drawers in teh wardrobes and stuff) and they were my grans and they will look fab in our house, much better than a mdf ikea sale wardrobe with two broken legs and a fabric stupid wardrobe covered in plaster, methinks!!!

They sound lovely, and it's great to have possessions with fond memories attached. Just last week I blagged a little hall table that had belonged to my grandparents from my mum. I love it.

definately, in a srtange way it will be really nice to have them in our room. when gran was in hospital ( she was rushed in and passed away three days later) my sister and i were named as her executors, so we went to her house to find her will while she was in hospital, hoping that by assuming the worst it wouldn't happen.... and i remeber rooting through these wooden and glass drawers and finding her will tucked inbetween her jumpers (completely igmnoring the agreed hiding place with my sister!) with a little handwritten note tucked in it for when we were eventually going to have to infd this will. i love knowing these little personal things have happened there..
