DD got a shetland pony from santa... not as flash as that sounds.... As well as being an overworked student nurse I am also a riding instructor and hence the link... however just wondered if anyone else out there has a pony/ or small person who rides? I want to break the small pony into harness to pull a little cart... any advice? About the only equestrian thing I have never done before!

and our New Forest foal Poppy has doen so well through the winter, only needing a little feed 3 x a week from January, and now groomed up she looks amazing!
petite though - quiet as a mouse even dd 2 can groom her and sit on her. Right Choice!

Well, we are now pony owners! A lovely grey 11.2 welsh section A called Harvey. 15 yrs old, known v well in the village since a foal (only 2 owners both living within 3 miles of here), completely bombproof and sweet. Unshod with hooves like iron, unclipped, lives out all year on fresh air and handful of hay and some pony, had a great vetting (very supple apparently) so a very economical boy! My dd is completely in love with him.
Now deciding what pony club to join - we are in the Beaufort area (but not sure if I can bear the intense smartness of it) but could easily join the VWH (right on the border) - any views?

LOL at the 2 local owners - and was he only used to ride to church on Sundays?

He sounds perfect, I love Welsh ponies (well I love ponies but Welsh v pretty as a rule) and not too big either, well done!

(Can't help with Pony Clubs though )
