Psychoboy2 is the king of making his money go a long long way I have discovered today......

It was his xmas fair at school today, but just a xmas fair for the children.....no parents allowed.

We parents have the joy of sending in many unwanted toys over the last few weeks, and then today sending in our darling children with £1 and a bag, so that they can go 'shopping' on their own, and manage their own money/change etc.

It is left to the children to sell/buy.....teachers are only there to prevent any fighting over the toys.

well........

at pick-up time us parents all wait on tenterhooks wondering if our children have bought back all the lovely gifts we kindly gave to the school, and watch as they each come out proudly bearing their bulging bag.

each of them come out with one bulging bag........DS2 is not coming however.

I spot two teachers watching me with very strange smiles on their faces.......

I start to worry.....

and then DS2 appears, with a helper, and TWO of the BIGGEST bags seens (think the large bags given with mahoosive boxes in argos).

OMG.....he has bought the entire left over toy stall.

and the teachers fall about laughing at my horror.......!!!

I put the bags into the car (well, manhandled would be fairer to say), and forgot about them until DH got home.

We have now unpacked them, and he has bought....

a *HUGE remote control car, without the remote control piece

a buzz lightyear without helmet or wings, also decorated in a unique way (ie, in pen by some very artistic child)

a gun (need I say more)

a car with no tires on the back, and smashed wheels at the front

a robot dog that is now in the bin as it has leaked battery acid everywhere

a massive punchball

and the best thing.........

boxing gloves!!!

honestly, he is either a sucker for all the sad toys that no-one else wants, or is the biggest haggler as AFAIK, the toys were to be priced at 30p each, meaning that no more that three per child, roughly.

and now, on top of the insanity inducing football table in the lounge, I now have a punch ball and two boys fighting over boxing gloves.

My life is complete!!

Just don't have too much otherwise the two of you will think its a great idea about 11 to have a go with the gloves

psychomum5 · 28/11/2008 19:43

TW.......you have just made me laugh properly this evening.

I am actually pondering the use of boxing gloves on DH.....would I be accused of husband beating if the gloves are only teeny

OP posts:
travellingwilbury · 28/11/2008 19:45

Of course not especially if he had a teeny pair on as well , and if he happened to be trying to drink carling at the same time then you would have a marvellous advantage

psychomum5 · 28/11/2008 19:48

I have now had a fab idea for a xmas party game....
