i need to get out of london but used to live in hampshire which was too far so someone suggested the next county up surrey! but where? i want somewhere nice and multicultural (like london) but with low crime (unlike london). i dont want anywhere racist and has to have good schools. i have ruled out reigate and banstead for having 10 members on the bnp list. i am blackbritish and will have four teenage boys at the same time ( but they are only primary age now). have been told the following areas are racist
redhill, reigate, mertham,horley, caterham, banstead!

i know its a bit extreme but i just want a peaceful life with my lovely family!

Does anyone know what its like round epsom or guildford? There must be a perfect place for me in surrey somewhere!

Purley is nice but the schools aren't great. John Fisher is for Catholics only. Riddlesdown is doing okay. Wilsons is a grammar school so hugely oversubscribed.

I know people who live in Guildford - it is really nice but really expensive!

I thought John Fisher might be catholic ladylaura, I went to Coloma and all my friends brothers went to John Fisher which of course makes sense.

thanks everyone . kaz33 which area do you live in? I dont mind a bit of posh! just not racist. my boys love the countryside and really miss it. if its only 35m ins into waterloo that would be ideal. southampton was 1 1/2 hrs.as long as i can get in quite easily then no probs. does anyone know what the artscenes like, galleries?

Sunshine - I'm not really an artsy type so can't advise. A friend in Guildford is doing an art history degree through the OU and she finds that the train into Waterloo deposits you right on the South Bank.

Woking is very multicultural and has sought after state schools.
