Hi,
My DD (who was three at Christmas) has just started asking about death - because Snow White's mummy died (!)
I don't know what to say to her, I don't want to frighten her, or confuse her, but I don't want to mislead her.

nerdgirl - like the chocolate wrapper explanation. I have used "old clothes" idea but I think a warpper is probably better!

We also used the "circle of life" from the Lion King with ds (3.5 at the time) when one of our beloved cats died last year (although tbh - we were more upset than he was) . This was on the advice of my best friend's dh - they've got 4 kids and I really respect them as parents. It certainly seemed to work for ds.
