I have a bit of a dilemma here.
My 8yr old dd2 is a complete "disbeliever"
My 9yr old ds1 is a con-merchant who pretends to believe or thinks he won't get any pressies.
My 10yr old dd1 does believe....although tells me that she's the only one in her class that does.
She goes to high school in September.Do I let it ride until after the big event and then perhaps call a meeting and tell them/her the truth? I can't let her go to high school still believing!!!
I stopped believing when I was 8.
Any advice please?

Is she just believing so that she'll continue to get presents?! Just a thought.

Maybe time for a discussion about who know who, (tooth) fairies and the like.

Subtly encourage 8 year old to raise the issue (after xmas if you must). Since clearly she will have had presents despite her rationalism.

Santa-belief is cute in infants but enough is enough.

My Dsis, believed until she was 12. She awoke to M&D putting out the stockings.
In February she broke down and told everyone she had found out and couldn't believe we had all been so deceitful.

If my DC ever question it I will tell the truth

Tell her. Better to find out from you and she is old enough to know now.

I'd be quite surprised if your 10 year old does really 100 percent believe. Is she trying to double bluff you coz she likes seeing you tied up in knots about whether to officially spill the beans or not perhaps?

I think I only stopped believing when I was watching Newsround on Christmas Eve when I was about 10. They were calculating how quickly santa would have to travel (it was about 3 times the speed of light or something) and how long he could spend at each house (less than a second) and realised it wasn't physically possible for him to deliver presents, eat mince pies and write a letter in that amount of time! Maybe Google some stats and show your kids as an educational thing. They should get the message themselves!
