would it bother you if you saw your new neighbour.......

sat on the doorstep smoking a huge spliff ??

he most certainly looks a bit, well lets say rough round the edges. he looks almost grey, and haggered looking, i'd say its quite likely he is an addict. Would you be ok with living next door to someone like this with your young children? would it cross your mind to move home?

Perhaps he is grey and haggard because he has cancer or MS in which case the spliff could be helping him cope with his symptoms.

Like many other posters here I would much rather have a spliff smoker than a drinker or cokehead as a neighbour. God, the worst he is likely to do is ask to borrow some chocolate biscuits.

ok i get the picture. you all think im a dinosaur who knows nothing about it. forgive my ignorance. I just thought that it was'nt quite the 'norm' to actually sit on the door step smoking it. i don't mind what people do in the privacy of their own homes, thats up to them. maybe i should take him round a nice home baked cake and introduce myself, welcome to my neighbourhood sort of thing!

ps shame on you, you dope smokin layabouts..how can you call yourself a decent mother? you know who you are!!!!

bubblepop! I hope you didn't take offence to my post, I have no idea if you know a lot or a little about drugs - just trying to get people to realise you might not know much about weed and to get off your case.

Kewcumber · 13/11/2008 13:05

I would judge

bubblepop · 13/11/2008 13:12

It would bother me if his behaviour was disruptive or bothersome to me and my family and the other people in the street. Not if he was smoking dope unless that was one of the reasons for his behaviour.

Ok so it's not brilliant to be sitting on your door step smiking a spliff - granted, but it's also not the end of the world and it could be 100x worse.

It's not directly effecting you or your children so i think in this curcumstance you should just leave alone and get on with your business while he get's on with his.

As a past drug user and someone who has lived in circles with people using heavy drugs alot i can assure you somking the odd spliff is nothing to worry about.

bubblepop · 13/11/2008 13:22

ok so a few of you smoke a bit of weed. so what? but would you sit on your door step smoking it for passers by to see, people walking past with their little kids? i suppose you are the types who just smoke it in front of them whilst watching tv.

I'm retiring to a safe distance before this thread explodes...

bubblepop · 13/11/2008 13:24

don't worry snaf, the ones who were upset last night are'nt even out of bed yet

OP posts:
OrmIrian · 13/11/2008 13:25

'types'?

That's interesting. I don't think of myself as a type as such.

no frosty i said i don't mind what people do in the privacy of their own homes (thats inside with the door shut)

Miyazaki · 13/11/2008 13:37

Hmm... I wouldn't be wild about it being done in public. I'm not bothered about those that smoke, but I do slightly object to the normalising of it - eg spliffs being smoked on the street.

zippitippitoes · 13/11/2008 13:39

my neighbour died last christmas from alcohol and it was very distressing the whole long period leading up to her dying and my feelings of guilt after that i shoulc have done something more

i would prefer spliff smoking by a mile
