What do you think of rompers for baby boys ?

Just out of interest, I've always loved them as they're aweet and fresh looking and show off their little legs in the summer. I like traditional clothes that don't make children look older than they are. I've always gon for traditional clothing for my daughter, but I'm not sure if people would like it on a boy. What do you think ?

links not working.

my ds spent lots of time in rompers.i liked them as easy and cute.

RubySlippers · 06/11/2008 14:47

link doesn't work

BUT DS looked exceptionally cute in his (and they weren't even posh rompers )

all the better for me to nibble on his chunky thighs

mummyloveslucy · 06/11/2008 14:53

Oh bugger, damb links.

That's what I thought, sweet, fresh and good for thigh nibbling.

I thought posh rompers where the only ones you could get? I know Sarah Louise, pretty oruginals and Mayoral do them but havn't seen them anyware else.

We are TTc at the moment and I'm thinking of gorgeous rompers, but it's occured to me that hardly any baby boys wear them nowadays. It tends to be more mini adult clothes or sleep suits. I like sleep suite for new borns as they are so comfy.

i think Blooming Marvellous do them

I love wee boys in rompers. My DS had some for summer and lived in babygros and cute cardigans for months. I hate army style trousers etc for wee boys.

(sorry you have to copy and paste!)

MrsBadger · 06/11/2008 15:06

now I know we don't always see eye to eye on clothes, esp wrt price, but rompers are fab.
As you know I am less of a traditionalist so dd had ones that were more like babygrows with short arms and legs rather than the (I assume) smocked type with peter pan collars as in your link, but the concept is sound.

Jojo Maman Bebe are a good source of traditional-ish but not fussy clothes

Nagapie · 06/11/2008 15:08

My little boy wore romper suits in the summer..

Dare I say it, but I got a set of romper suits from Next

MrsBadger · 06/11/2008 15:10

oh yes, dd's were from the Next boys' section

mummyloveslucy · 06/11/2008 15:14

MrsBadger, I like the less fussy ones too. I think smocking has to be kept to a mininum for boys if at all.

Nagapie- were they like t-shirt material with no collar? I've seen those in loads of shops. They are nice but not what I had in mind.

mummyloveslucy · 06/11/2008 15:16

I like them with little embroydered teddies, ducks or trains, that kind of thing.

Nagapie · 06/11/2008 15:20

Yes - they had an 'envelope' neck and made of T-shirt fabric ...

mummyloveslucy · 06/11/2008 15:58

I've looked on the website, is it the cashmere mix all in one?
If so, that's gorgeous. Not too expencive either. I'd buy that.

Search on ebay there are loads of rompers for boys (and girls) some new some second hand. I've just bought some for DS and think they're v. cute - handy to wear round the house and let skin get an airing and aid leg-thrashing around and then can pop a pair of trousers over the top if we go somewhere cooler especially if using the sling...

mummyloveslucy · 06/11/2008 16:30

Yes, I love e-bay.

MrsBadger · 06/11/2008 18:31

I meant the whole collection really - just to give you an idea of the sort of thing they do

but yes the stripey cashmere stuff is v nice
