Help,I've been put on the spot, and don't know what on eareth to say.

Hi, I have a bit of a problem. My work coleague who I'll be doing a night shift with on christmas day has left a message on our answer phone saying can she have a lift to work on chistmas evening.
She knows my husband drives me, as I don't drive. If I drove it wouldn't be a problem at all, but my husband dosn't want to go out of his way to pick her up. He says it's just so that her husband can have a few drinks, which is probubly true.
It's just so awkward for me, as I know her from nursery etc.
He is extreamly stubborn, and has told me to just make up some excuse. I don't know what on earth to say though.
What would you do?

I'l try to work on him, it won't be easy though. I'll let him know it'll be worth his while.

unless you just say to her you wans going to ask her the same and get he rto pick you up on way through then your dh doesnt have to be bribed into anything lol

Yeah just say sorry. DH is driving me and he wants to whip over and back ASAP and get back to the festivities - perfectly 't reasonable I would say. You can't make DH do it, he is an adult.

But surely that's the answer: she drives, she can't be planning to get pissed before work so she fetches you.

I meant I'll have to make it worth his while. Lol

Just say What a coincidence I was going to ask YOU for a lift, dh having friends over blah blah blah....

Share a cab - then both DH's can have a drink?? Maybe charge back to the company?
