Ok so after a journey from HELL we have decided very reluctantly that we have to upgrade to something bigger .....I have no clue about cars and want some suggestions re. your fav/def avoid at all costs cars. At the mo we have a Skoda Octavia which we love but with 3 car seats in the back its just such a squeeze and I am fed up of trying to inch my big butt in the middle or messing with seat belts. Ok so I think we need a 7 seater, suggestions welcome dont want to go crazy but want something that does not guzzle petrol (realisic?) and isnt enormous oh and can do a reasonable speed . Thanks in advance garls

We have a Picasso, it onlyhas 5 seats but they are all full size so great for three car seats.

Also we have a diesel to counteract the bigger engine size. It does about 50/60 MPG.

It has a HUGE boot and loads of leg room, little cubby holes all over etc.

We used to have a zafira which was rubbish - mainly because the times when you need the boot space are also the times when you need seven seats (and you can't have both in a zafira!) ie long journeys for holidays etc.

HTH!

Scenic. Love it.

Nissan Almera Tino (diesel). Very happy with it.

Previously had a scenic, which was ok, although not as reliable as it could have been. Friends had their scenic before us, and they've still got it and they're happy with it.

We have a Hyundai Trajet which we are very pleased with. But it is a bit of a tank.

i have a 7 seater renault grand scenic, but i have to accommodate a wheelchair as well

A Renault Espace and we absolutly love it. It's our second one.

7 seats, lots of space for things. All the seats come out and it is as big as a van inside. Great for picking up those big items from Freecycle. The front seats swivel round to face the back.It is very flexible indeed.

We have a Seat Alhambra which has ticked all the boxes for us!

Before we had a Toyota Previa - that had 3 seats in the back and 3 in the middle and 2 in front - was a fab car but was automatic and guzzled fuel.

The Seat is diesel and is economical. It also has 2 built in car seats - where the seats convert to either a baby seat (inc harness)or booster type seat. In fact that was what sold it for me. We have 4 children.

Happy car hunting!!

range rover - need to transport a pile of dogs too.

We have a 7 seater Mercedes V Class. I love it. It does guzzle petrol tho. I will be replacing it with a Merc V Class but the deisel version.

Lots of boot space/picnic table and can have seats facing each other or not.

Diesel Volvo XC90 ?

BigBadMouseInHauntedHouse · 26/10/2008 15:51

We have a Seat Alhambra TDI but it is quite big (depends on what you're used to - I like big cars) - it's pretty fast too . Quite economical for it's size and is easy to drive. It has a decent sized boot, removeable seats and lots of storage. We have the two rearmost seats removed and can fit all three DCs easily plus a double pushchair, a three wheeled pushchair, a weeks worth of shopping, two change bags and three nappy trial kits (in bug buckets) in the boot .

Whatever you do avoid the Grand Voyoager - they have a terrible safety record - esp for child passengers

grand picasso.

is nice.

thought it would be like driving a bus but actually prefer it to an estate [hhappy]
