Please dont all flame me......

I have just got 4 tickets for OASIS in June 09 and baby id due March 17th.

I have bought a ticket for me as well as for dp and mam and dad. Now I am thinking its clearly madness!!!!

DC will prob be breastfed- only be a little wee thing- so could prob sleep in a sling next to me at the concert or would it be too loud?
Would I be able to express some milk and leave it with grandparents?

DD had the odd bottle of ex milk when I left her to ride my horse, but never left her for more than a couple of hours.

Now I am being mad?
Has anyone taken their baby to such an event?
Has anyone left their baby at such a young age with a relative?

Thanks for advive

p.s I prob wont go or at least wait until nearer the time

you would have to get a ticket for the baby in any case lily.

ear defenders are FAB, we have the peltor ones and they only let a little bit of noise in

nowwearefour · 25/10/2008 18:21

no way. there are many sacrifices we have to make when we have kids- this may be one of your first !!!

I am taking ds4 to a Ball / Awards next month. I don't want to tbh, but at 6 months here is nobody quite like Mummy (or else he wills cream) and nothing shall deliver his milk other than my breasts.

However I have to say that would be my cut off point: too much in the way of crowds / heat etc etc to take him. Not sure I'd do this except FIL / Godmother attending

FWIW you may well feel really differently anyway post birth- I was certain beofre abby came I would be OK to take him camping at 5 weeks. I should have known as well, my 4th baby! Well I had to go but I did not enjoy it- or the accompanying panic attacks at night (was fine at 10 weeks though).

Romy7 · 25/10/2008 18:34

i didn't take dd1 to a ball at 6 months. but i did sit in the toilets for about three hours watching breast milk spray all over the cubicle and wondering how to get it to stop, eventually giving up, putting on my jacket, and then taking another 25 minutes to persuade dh that we were leaving, whilst slowly melting/ crumpling soggily underneath the layers. oddly, he couldn't see the problem. hope your experience is far superior!

Peachy · 25/10/2008 18:42

It will be (actually it will because the team I'm in will be quite protective if I need to feed ds4, and you have just inspired me to get a wrap rather than a shrug to double as a BF cover up ta )

is it really that rowdy at concerts .

What do you think..?! 10,000 + adults in one room..?!!!

Also, think..what happens if there is a situation where you have to be evacuated (bit ott I know..but it can happen)...with a lo I wouldn't want them to be in that situation if it can be avoided.

Glad you seem to have got it sorted.

my dh is in a band and i have took dd who's 3 but she's wore ear defenders and stood back stage and complained its too loud so i wouldn't take a 12 week old.i also wouldn't risk it if you are standing.

elsiepiddock · 25/10/2008 21:01

God NOOOOO!!

Definitely not, would be insane.

elsiepiddock · 25/10/2008 21:02

Ooops! Just saw that you've sorted it!

Have a great time..

southeastalien · 25/10/2008 21:03

aw gone are the days where plastic pint cups were chucked about

and babies at concerts?! no

peacelily · 25/10/2008 21:23

can I just ask you where you got the tickets.

i spent 2 hours frantically clicking on fri am when i should have been working and when I eventually got through it was sold out

peacelily · 25/10/2008 21:24

supposed to be

nooOOOoonki · 25/10/2008 21:42

my Dh (who is a paramedic) worked at an Oasis concert last year and said it was a nightmare - loads of really pissed blokes chucking piss about - people getting crushed leaving the place and v lairy in general.

Including a woman who was pregnant who got squashed.

Seated - No
standing - absolutley frigging not!

he's worked loads of concerts and that is the only one I recall him saying that about.

lilymolly · 25/10/2008 22:26

OK OK OK everybody- newborn not going with me.......

peacelily I got the tickets at 5pm last night on "gigsandtours.com"
I had planned to start at 10am like everyone else, but mother nature got in the way and both me and dp where in bed all day with horrendous sickness. felt a bit better at about 5 and rang a few mnumbers and went on a few websites but all where sold out.

I clicked on the aforementioned website at about 5.30 and bought 4 straight away, rang a friend and she got some at 6pm.

I thought it may have been a scam, but the website was on OASIS and Sunderland AFC links so must have been legit.
Tickets where for stadium of light
This morning I think there where still some left.- may be worth trying?

peacelily i am selling 2 tickets for the Manchester gig on Thurs 4 June as my DP bought 2 for the Saturday instead...

elkiedee · 29/10/2008 17:12

I don't know if you can but wouldn't try to take a baby to an indoor concert, particularly not of that kind - it's true that different types of music vary when it comes to outdoor stuff, we took ds at 5 months to an open air concert in San Francisco last year and being there wasn't a problem, the most difficult bits were getting to and from where we were staying on very crowded public transport routes.

Eniddo · 29/10/2008 17:13

I would have had a panic attack at at music concert when my first was 12 weeks
