Do your children send a thank you note to someone whose party they have been to?

I invariable make my dd who is 4 and half draw a card and write Thank you and her name at the bottom and do send it.

However recently we had a kids party and did not receive a single thank you note. Just the odd text message, but mostly nothing.

What is the norm? I always write a thank you note if I go to dinner or a party at someones house so shouldn't children get into the habit? Am I overdoing it?

TVM hotcheese! you get child to draw their picture in the bottom right corner of page. Fold into card. Easy peasy!

I thank ( and my DC's thank) at the end of the party.
I don't send a thank you for a party. But I do thank the child for attending DC's party when we write to thank them for gift

Is that weird?

No, it's not the custom here so people would think we were pretentious. They always say thank you as they leave.

I do make the children write thank you notes for presents to anyone who was not there to be thanked in person. They generally have to do notes at Christmas and birthdays.

Not for going to a child's birthday party. Make sure DS thanks the parents in person before he leaves, though.
