Awfully bad decision..

Will fire off an email - even though it isn't going to make any difference.

notnowbernard · 23/10/2008 13:36

Still worth sending an e-mail though

Sainsburys are definitely downshifting their stock lines as a response to the credit crunch - loads of things that I used to buy are no longer in stock in our store. Some of them are highly poncey (organic couscous!) but some - the biggest boxes of Fairy non bio - aren't.

notnowbernard · 23/10/2008 13:44

I hadn't thought of it in this way

Interesting

Except wierdly - or perhaps not when I think about it for a bit - our local Asda (aka a dump) is actually upgrading itself - it had loads more organic stuff (kids yogs, etc) the last time I went in, and quite a bit of it on discount. They're trying to catch the people trading down from sainsburys

notnowbernard · 23/10/2008 13:51

I e-mailed Sainsbo's telling them I was hving to go to an alternative supplier

It will make sod-all difference but I live in hope of some vouchers or a discount or something!

Hmm, the Asda thing makes sense... do you have inside info?!

I will email, too. Those Eco nappies are nowhere near as good as the Nature ones and have a smaller percentage of biodegradable material, too. I thought maybe it was just our fairly small local store that had stopped having them.

vonsudenfed · 23/10/2008 14:45

No inside info, just SAHM with a bit too much time on her hands to think about these things...

Von -

Got a reply e-mail from them this pm apologising but saying if enough people complain there is an "effective system" to get discontinued products re-introduced...

Yeah, right

Hehe. I bet. I won't hold my breath.

It's interesting, there must be products - like these- that people feel strongly enough about not to substitute. But I wonder if they can tell that when they discontinue something. I doubt their effective systems are clever enough to tell them that.

Just noticed this thread. I emailed Sainsburys last Saturday just after I got back from shopping and noticed this. As of tonight I've had two acknowledgements saying my email will be considered and replied to, and no actual reply.

elkiedee · 28/10/2008 17:43

just bookmarking this thread as I'm annoyed about it too and want to remind myself to do something... it was so much easier buying nappies as part of our supermarket order

Horton · 30/10/2008 18:55

STill haven't had a reply to my email. Rubbish.
