How long before I got blown out of the water for posting a thread like this one. I'd be flamed in minutes I bet

It's not in my experience either. Also my sister and one of my best friends are primary school teachers and they are both lovely

happymerryberries · 06/03/2005 18:24

Well, I'm a teacher and I am just plain horrible, but I'm the exception

It isn't that i expect people to think we are better than the norm, I just don't expected to be treated as worse than the norm either. people are just people, whatever their jobs

Completely agree, hmb.

In all seriousness though, as I said on the other thread, the teachers at ds1's school are good people. Dh had a tough time at school and even he's amazed at how different ds1's school is.

coppertop · 06/03/2005 18:33

Oooops! Just realised that my post looks as though I'm agreeing that you're horrible!!!

happymerryberries · 06/03/2005 18:35

I know that you know I am horrid!

ScummyMummy · 06/03/2005 18:36

Jimjams · 06/03/2005 18:36

ScummyMummy · 06/03/2005 18:37

Ohh I've been such a bad mummy, I had wine at lunch time, but only because we were out for lunch (can't remember the last time we did that, probably last mothers day!)

I also had some wine because of the sixth form test I just mared. Half of them think that amino acids are carbohydrates! ARGH! In the end I took to writing 'cobblers' at the more lunatic answers they were giving, not professional I know but I was losing the will to love after a while and I will go over it with them in depth next lesson

What do you mean by "already", Jimjams? It's almost 7pm.

On topic, I'm a bitch, therefore everyone else is too. Love it! I don't feel so bad now.

ScummyMummy · 06/03/2005 18:54

lol @ cobblers hmb. I would have treasured such a comment, personally.

Jimjams · 06/03/2005 19:51

every day is a tough day scummy cobblers to the lot of it I'm sitting here listening to dh trying to get ds1 to bed and pleased I'm not doing it (he really takes the michael at bed time). Just had to lift him down from the fridge/freezer- god knows how he got on top of it. He's managed to get dh to give him a go on the trrampoline ha! think mean mummy may have to take over.

I need wine He's now charging aroiund upstairs (the trampline is in the basement). Yup taking the michael.

Jimjams · 06/03/2005 19:52

hmb - don't worry - my ex-boss is a chief examiner at A level and every year he sends me some of the funnier howlers. You wouldn't believe some of the things they come out with.

tigermoth · 06/03/2005 20:05

can you post them on here, jimjams or is that breaking too many rules?

I hope you wrote 'cobblers' in beautiful copperplate, hmb - I wonder if you can slightly change the look of a smiley face drawing to visually get the message across, too. hmmm... the shocked face here on mumsnet looks about right (mind you it also looks like the face of one of those lifelike blow up dolls that, ahem, some people buy)

Hulababy · 06/03/2005 20:43

Posted on other thread at the thread title and it's inference.

Yes, there are some poor teachers - like there are poor builders, lawyers, health visitors, plumbers, taxi drivers, doctors, ...... parents.... In every group of people there are always going to be a majority of those doing a good job, and a very small minority of those who are bad.

I now have 2 weeks, and 4 working days, left as a teacher. I am leaving because I get so little enjoyment out of the job now. Stess, disillusionment and upset has taken the place of enjoyment, fun and satisfaction. Why? Lots of reasons, but one is the lack of support teachers get from society. Not the only reason, not the main reason - but it is one of the reasons.

eidsvold · 07/03/2005 03:27

gosh I must be a right bitch - was a teacher now am a parent my poor dd's.
