Do you think parents (esp mothers) have a 6th sense when it comes to their dc?

I think i do, too many coincedences (sp?).

I always seem to wake a couple of mins before they do through the night (random times they do not normally wake), that type of thing.

I have also on a couple of occasions at the start of illness, known that one of my dc is about to be sick (night time) and get in their room just before it happens.

So do you think there is some kind of 6th sense? anything odd happened to you?

Yes.

And no.

I don't think it's unusual or odd. Women are 'programmed' to pick up on even the slightest of changes in people. Something to do with prehistoric times when body language was the main form of communication. The women in the tribe knew exactly what was going on with each person. I've got a book about it somewhere.

I don't think it's a sixth sense, more that you feel such complete love for your child that you become more minutely aware of them than of anyone else.

I often wake before dd does, even though she normally sleeps fine, and I think that she must have made some noise in her sleep that woke me before she was conciously awake iyswim.
