One of my friends from the nursery has asked my husband and I around to hers for drinks as it's her birthday tomorrow.
I just wondered what to get her as a pressie?, do you have any idea, what would you like to recieve?
Childrens parties are always easier, I just give a DVD.

A voucher for a local beauty place so I could have a manicure.

PsychoAxeMurdererMum · 10/10/2008 19:13

book voucher or boots voucher (for make-up).

new jewellery.....think the costume type in sainsburys/tesco/next.

wine and chocs (altho check for allergies first).

Lizzylou · 10/10/2008 19:14

Vouchers : Boots/M&S/Next I'm always desperate for stuff and then I can choose my own.
If you don't want to give vouchers, then wine and chocolates

LynetteScavo · 10/10/2008 19:16

A candle (Jo Malone or Diptique would thrill me, but any nice one would do)

LynetteScavo · 10/10/2008 19:16

Or an orchid.

She is a friend, we meet up with our children and go to the cinima etc. I haven't known her for long, but she is lovely. She would be pleased with anything.

Angelina Ballerina is fine MrsB

mabanana · 10/10/2008 19:31

Gosh my three year old would LOVE a dvd of The Little Mermaid!
For an adult you didn't know very well, but liked, flowers, bottle of wine, nice card. One step up? Posh candle, posh bath stuff, pair of earrings, nice book.

mummyloveslucy · 10/10/2008 19:41

MrsBadger, I didn't think a DVD was a bad pressie. My daughter loves them. Maybe I should buy books in future. I don't want the other Mummys to judge me too.
( she also loves books!)

My dd has so many books (from her brother and older sister and presents and charity shops etc that we simply have no more room for them (full bookshelves, full cupboards, under the bed, all over the floor) - we now go to the library instead.

A good DVD is a very appropriate present for a toddler/young child

mummyloveslucy · 10/10/2008 19:44

The closest I come to designer shoes is clarks.

Thanks, we always chose good DVD's that we've watched and Lucy really enjoys.
