Settled down to watch Dream Team this morning and have accidently recorded down to earth instead. They only repeat it on the same night...why?, so therefore can watch it. Can anyone help?.

Sorry breeze, can't help as I missed it to - and it said that Jacqui confessed all to Phil.
It is sometimes repeated on SkyMix (is that the right name for the channel that shows all the highlights) so I'll see if I can find out when it's on.

I watched it. Jackie did confess to Phil, who took it badly, hit Patrick and told the team and the press that Patrick was betting on the team being relegated. Marcel/Fletch have not told the team that they knew what was going on. Tash & Robbie have split up. Tash & her dad got Jackie to tell the press that she made up the bit about the bet to get back at Patrick, but too late, as Phil is half way to committing suicide. Think that pretty much summed it up. Shame you missed it as it was good!

Thanks Bluestar, of all the ones to miss. Tash and jamie I think will get back together. Make sure I watch it or tape it myself next week.

Can't believe other people watch this! It is sooo crap but absolutely addictive. I love the fact that they only have about three locations and always end up at The Grange for every do going. Did anyone notice the even more dreadful than usual quality of film at the beginning of the series. Looked like half of the programme had been shot on dv - made me wonder what had gone wrong with the original. Have to say though that this series is not as good as the days of Linda Block.

whellid · 28/02/2003 14:27

I know what you mean willow2 - I was in two minds over whether to admit I watch it or not! I love the cameos by 'real' footballers and managers, and the way they use Andy Gray etc. Sad really!

I must admit that I too find it addictive, it wasn't until I watched it once with my dh that I realised how naff it sometimes is.

Oh my oh my - just seen the repeat.

Basically, Jamie goes mental, armed with a gun he holds the team hostage at half time. Match is cancelled (will this automatically mean they forfeit the game - find out next week). Jamie shoots Abby - by mistake - she loses a lot of blood.

Meanwhile Jackie bonks Patrick again at the marital home - during second half of the match. Afterwards Patrick tells her something along the lines of the expectation of bonking her is always better than the actual bonk. They turn on tv to find news item about seige. Patrick calls Jamie a plonker or similar and prays he doesn't spill the beans. Sends Jackie to Harchester to try to find out what is going on.

Back at Harchester seige continues. Phil tells Jackie to get out - she returns back home, tells Patrick she wishes she'd never met him and to leave.

By now police are desperately trying to locate Tash. Eventually she is found and brought to incident hq in stadium. Makes phone contact with Jamie - by now Abby on verge of copping it - tells him she loves him, everything will be ok, to come out and that she will be there with Hope. Jamie cracks up, confesses everything over phone as horrified team watch on, explains he only carried on because Patrick said he'd never see her or Hope again. Tash tells him to come out unarmed. Being Jamie he forgets this bit. Comes out to find armed police in attendance, screams "you lied to me" raises gun and gets shot dead.

Abby whisked off to hospital - will she/won't she scenario. Oh yes, and the "tough guy" manager has a heart attack as seige ends (he's in dressing room as well) and cops it too.

Oh, and Nikki and Phil get all cutesy.

So not much happened then willow2, every time I miss it I seem to miss a good one. Well thats for taking the time to tell me what happened, your a star

what is particularly sad though is that I found myself almost on the verge of tears - fortunately dh was out otherwise I would never be allowed to forget it!

breeze · 05/05/2003 22:34

Why because he died or because the programme (although addictive) is utter pants. I have been saying ever since I started watching it that I won't bother anymore and was totally gutted this morning when I taped the wrong channel.

Why can't they just have a massive clear out like some clubs, why do they have to have plane crashes, coach crashes, shootings etc etc.

OP posts:
willow2 · 05/05/2003 22:53

neither - just Abby was almost dying so well.

breeze · 06/05/2003 08:20

Dont worry I probably would have been in tears (have cried at the drop of a hat since having ds).
I liked Abby and still can not believe the way they lose people that Karl is still there.

Fletch - now there's a great acting talent - up there with Brando, De Niro etc. NOT.
