The children have an inset day tomorrow; would it be too awful of me to suggest that we have a pyjama day at home?

Rather than the other options which are:

A day out at Chessington
A day out at the Enchanted forest
A river cruise from Greenwich to London and back and then some time at the Naval College
A day out to the Hop Farm to go tree treking?

They are pretty knackered at the moment and DD has some entrance exams coming up and I think they would benefit from the rest. We've also got a busy weekend coming up. But it is supposed to be a sunny day tomorrow.

My suggestion would be a quick trip to Blockbuster now to stock up on a few DVDs and a packet of popcorn. Then a day spent snuggled up on the sofa watching films!

not awful at all. sometimes it's good to just sit down and unwind.
kids don't need activites all the time, and you still have the weekend

Perfectly fine!

I thought this is what inset days were for?

I am planning 5 PJ days over the half term holiday.
what is the Enchanted Forsest? Where is it? I think I want to go!

Lynette - here you go It is lovely there - really great day out.

So, I put the option to them and there was NO question of which option they wanted! Suffice to say, that DH has now been despatched to Blockbuster with a list of DVDs to rent!

Result!

Avena - I always think of inset days as 'beating the crowds at popular attractions days' and given that we often meet half the school at whatever attraction we've chosen, I assumed that everyone did the same.

But the children have spoken and what kind of mother would I be to drag them out to a theme park when they'd much rather be cosied up at home watching trash camp rock or the like?
