friends husband having affair.... ideas for helping her please

my friend's husband has been having an affair. she has kicked him out (he failed to kick the habit) and will probably have him back soon under strict new regime.

i want to help her. we are close, but not geographically.

what can i send her that would be nice...? I want to make a gesture of support and cheer her up, but that sounds trite I know...

Go visit her. Is that possible? Turning up on the doorstep, out of the blue, with a bottle of wine, a dvd and some lovely chocolate would mean and say a lot more than arranging flowers to be delivered, or ordering her something off the net.

i agree about the turning up actually. will arrange. might check with her mum first that the timing would be good as not really aware of her day to day life/ routine.
