I knew someone with this spelling and it was Jamie

FabioBigBangBlackHole · 17/09/2008 10:17

I think like Jamie.

SheSellsSeashellsByTheSeashore · 17/09/2008 10:18

isnt just a daft way of spelling jamie? as in lee curtis?

Kathyis6incheshigh · 17/09/2008 10:18

I had a student called that and it was pronounced like Jamie.

OliverCromwell · 17/09/2008 10:18

The only Jaime I've known was a Chilean man. Pronounced (roughly) High-me (but with a more back-of-the-throat 'H').

Fimbo · 17/09/2008 10:19

The girl that used to wax my eyebrows was called this, it's said Jamie but spelt Jaime.

Carmenere · 17/09/2008 10:19

Ja-may as in Summer Heights High? SHH is a piss-take btw so I hope that is not how it is pronounced.

DrNortherner · 17/09/2008 10:19

I was thinking 'high me' but have to make a call and ask for her and don't want to make a tit of myself.

Jay mee?

biglips · 17/09/2008 10:20

It is pronounced as "Jamie" as my dp's cousin's dd got that name.

DeJaVous · 17/09/2008 10:20

There was one at school with me, was just pronounced like the version of James.

seeker · 17/09/2008 10:20

You don't. It's not a girl's name - it's a Hispanic (I think) boy's name - where it would (again I think) be pronounced something like Haim-e

tortoiseshell · 17/09/2008 10:20

I knew a girl called Jaime and she pronounced it Jamie.

DeJaVous · 17/09/2008 10:21

The Jaime at my school was a girl

fleacircus · 17/09/2008 10:22

TBH and possibly irrelevant but if you don't know how to pronounce it probably lots of other people don't either, so I wouldn't recommend using it - poor whippersnapper will spend their whole life saying "no, it's actually Jay-me" or whatever.

foxytocin · 17/09/2008 10:23

Jaime is a Spanish boy's name.

Hai (ask in Haiku or the glottal sound in Loch instead of the H sound ) + meh.

cupsoftea · 17/09/2008 10:25

seems a usual girls & boys name to me?

DrNortherner · 17/09/2008 10:25

No, she is definatley a girl. she signs her emails Miss Jaime xxxxxx

spicemonster · 17/09/2008 10:26

It may be a spanish boy's name but Jaime Winstone is definitely a girl ...

ShowOfHands · 17/09/2008 10:27

It's just jamie not spelt proper like. I know 2 of them.

foxytocin · 17/09/2008 10:27

Then I fear her mum spelt 'Jamie' wrong when they registered her.

belgo · 17/09/2008 10:28

ISn't there someone famous called Jaime? A singer or a model? I've heard of it, but wouldn't have a clue how to pronounce it.

ShowOfHands · 17/09/2008 10:29

It's a legitimate spelling and a unisex name.

cupsoftea · 17/09/2008 10:29

You can spell it how you want

FabioVicePeeperPalin · 17/09/2008 10:29

Ray Winstone's daughter.
