Has anyone been to a play barn type toddler party? Selfish question ...

Ds is going to one tomorrow. Food will be at 1p.m. This means picking him up from nursery at c. 11:15 so that he doesn't get lunch there.

At 7 months pg, my main question is, will I get fed too at this party?

If not, I guess I'll have to eat at 11a.m. - cos me & my bump would not be happy to wait until 3!

having been to several play barn party type things I would say, eat before you go!

fisil · 24/02/2005 19:35

Thank you. I will eat at 11a.m. and fill my handbag with snacks too!

Whats a play barn?? do you mean soft play ?? Like wizzy world and runabout and fizzy kids ??

Would hate to think I have missed out on something

fisil · 24/02/2005 19:42

well, I don't know how to describe it, but I think it's basically one of these places that you go to and they organise the child's party for you. I'm new to all of this too. I'll let you know tomorrow!

fisil - am I right in thinking you're in Battersea? Or was that someone else? Are you going to the play place in Earlsfield? If you are, they have a v. nice cafe so you can purchase a snack and relax during the party.

You won't get fed but ime if you're not shy there will be loads of leftovers as the children won't eat much! Depends on how shameless you are really!

fisil · 25/02/2005 09:02

completely shameless. Anyway, it's not for me that I'm eating is it?

There you go then fisil, you'll be fine, encourage them to leave the table 'to play' as soon as possible and nab those leftovers!

Oh my geography isn't up to scratch - is it Tiger's Eye? (Which I think of as being in Wimbledon...) Yes there's a cafe - not sure that on my one experience I would call it "nice", but you won't starve!

fisil · 25/02/2005 09:29

no, not Tiger's Eye, that's in S Wimbledon I think. I would have to go down 2 floors to get the invite and I can't be bothered - I just know it's in Earlsfield!

Well, not only do I get v. hungry when pg, but I also go a little bit mad. Just before I left I noticed the invite said "parents are welcome to stay and hot food will be provided."

Stupid woman. I can't wait to drop this sprog!
