positive thoughts DrNortherner, elaborate do - Why did he disappear?

norksinmywaistband · 11/09/2008 19:54

positive thought for you all.

DrNortherner · 11/09/2008 19:56

No one knows why. He did not turn up for work yesterday, he texted his mum to say his car was at a local beauty spot.

The police found his car, in it he had left notes for people but the police have taken them away.

The police are not too worried as they also found receipts for camping equipment he bought the day before so they think he has taken off somewhere to be alone.

It's very worrying though and so out of character.

am very sorry to hear this

could be he needed some alone time

hope it is not anything more

norksinmywaistband · 11/09/2008 19:58

My uncle did this - He just took off, no word for a month, then breezed back as if nothing was wrong, just seems he needed space and time.
Hoping your story ends the same way

Yurtgirl · 11/09/2008 19:58

My ex h did something very similar, he reappeared the following day having had some time to think. (end result 6 months later was us splitting up) He just needed some time to be on his own as he felt trapped I think

I hope your friend reappears safe and well Northerner.

RhinestoneCowgirl · 11/09/2008 20:01

DrNortherner - my brother did something similar about 2 years ago, he turned up after a very long 10 days.

Sympathies for you and your friend's family, I know how worrying this can be . Positive vibes that he returns safely soon.

DrNortherner · 13/09/2008 13:07

I've just heard an appeal to find him on our local news

My mums neighbour did something similar years ago.

He didn't turn up at work, but parked his car in the work car park. he also cleared out their bank account. he left his wife and two teenage sons.

He came back two weeks later and had gone to America and taken Greyhound buses all over the place. It turned out he'd made a major cock up at work, and had various stresses and had just been tipped over the edge.

Fortunately he got help and they are stronger than ever now.

Fingers crossed this has a happy ending, you must be so worried. Best wishes.

It's amazing just howm many people know someone who has done this.

I can not ever imagine feeling so bad I have to disapear

You just do not know what some people are going through do you?
