Boden Clearance Sales - are they worth going and if so when

Has anyone ever been to one of these sales - have been wondering if should attend one so appreciate any thoughts on

• Are they worth it, how much reduced are items, is it better to go in opening scrum or hold on for later in the day or 2nd day?

SHarpen elbows, don't take DCs, grab anything that takes your fancy asap, hang around near changing rooms for people dropping things that don't fit them. In a nutshell, I think. Oh, and wear a skirt and vest top, so you can try things on without queueing for the changing rooms.

And to answer your original questions, um, not sure really - I've only ever been to one. Was OK, but complete scrum.

I went to one at Westpoint Exeter, it was not the first day may be that was the best day to visit, not much kids stuff there but plenty for me...........so went for the kids and ended up spending loads on moi! Def agree with JackieNo on all her points

I went to one and it was like the seventh circle of hell. I did get some bargains, but not sure if they were worth the scrum. And I lost my boot - took them off to try something on and then one just vanished. 20 minutes later I found it under a pile of discarded clothes miles from where I started - I was in a right strop .

what sort of prices - ie ones that make it worth going?

I went to one last year. I only went for the mini boden stuff. The queue was enormous!!! I did get a lot of bargains though but be prepared for the scrum. It was quite ridiculous!

People literally shoving and elbowing to get what they wanted. They basically load everything into plastic containers sorted by size. My advice would be go straight to the boxes with your size and load up everything you want then go and find a corner to sort through. This is what everyone does. One lady tipped the whole plastic container in her bag and loudly announced that none of it was for her but she could sell it all for more money on e-bay

That really annoyed me, sheer greed.

They put up a central sign with prices on it. It was all skirts £9, all trousers £9, all tee-shirts £8 and coats £15 when I went.

I bought DD1 a fabulous coat that was £45 on the site for £15.

It was worth it as I got lots of stuff but you have to be early and prepared to hold your own in the scrum!

Oh yes, it was cash or cheque only.

How do you find out when/where they are?

email Boden customer services and they will tell you the nearest ones to you. I will report back - I can't go first thing but first day I think.....perhaps I could practice grabbing with the ironing pile - on second thoughts not my style - but try anything once I guess.
