She has just had a baby. Will send something for baby, but want to send her something from UK that is nice for her.

Any ideas?

Walkers Variety Pack

Anna8888 · 04/09/2008 12:40

Penhaligon's soap.

QuintessentialShadow · 04/09/2008 12:44

If she is Finnish, and never lived abroad, she wont get the stuff that is hyped up in the uk. Especially not skincare and toiletry products. Why not get her some jewellery items?

I cant flaunt my Cath Kidston here in Norway, they are "just" towels and oilcloth. Nothing more. Mari Mekko, on the other hand, RULES. (But that is Finnish, so you cant give your friend that) A box of chocolate such as Thorntons? Or Godiva?

LittleMyDancing · 04/09/2008 12:46

Marmalade - if she's English and likes it, my friends who live in Helsinki always buy loads to take back with them.

And Marmite.

DrNortherner · 04/09/2008 12:47

Hmm, she is Finnish.

We always had a joke about fanny wipes so I am sending a bumper pack of those!

Choccies might be good I think. Have heard about this Godiva but don't think you can buy it in my town....

You can order Godiva online, I think. They are heaven in a box.

DrNortherner · 04/09/2008 13:22

Godiva looks lush

My Finnish cousin raves about M&S sandwiches!

DrNortherner · 04/09/2008 13:46

How about the lushest socks in the world? Finnish people ALWAYS take their shoes off when entering someone's home, so quite practical (if a bit unsexy).

LittleMyDancing · 04/09/2008 14:03

Given that they're heading into their darkest time of year, how about a light box to fight of SAD and PND?

might be more than you were thinking of spending though!

Swampster · 04/09/2008 14:12

But if you want to spend that much then these blankets from Melin Tregwynt are STUNNING.

Swampster · 04/09/2008 14:17

How about an aduki light?
