here
But it's not very clear. Basically, Jessicasmumy, picture an above-knee length skirt, very full and volumnious, then gathered in again round the hem so that the skirt is like an old fashioned lampshade. Horrid. Like a skirt version of those silly baggy bloomers that courtiers in henry V111 costume dramas are shown wearing.

Blu · 18/02/2005 17:35

and here
better google results for 'bubble skirt' which was it's alternative name.

Potty1 · 18/02/2005 17:46

I've worn all these (although not necessarily together!) I feel old

motherinferior · 18/02/2005 19:55

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Mirage · 18/02/2005 20:48

He he he!!!I am glad that you are all as horrified as me.All I could think of when I clapped eyes on them was Pepsi & Shirlie prancing about in them.I used to work in the 'Ladeeez Fashion Dept' of a big store in the mid eighties & we sold all of the monstrosities listed here,as well as the dreaded puffball skirt. The 80's were truly the decade that taste forgot.

Does anyone here remember those jeans with coloured piping down the side seam? I seem to remember wearing a pair with my batwing,v back sweater.mmmmmmmmmmmm

I had some of these jeans with the piping - one red pair and one white. Lovely....I used to turn them inside out, and take them in, so they were absolutely skin tight, and then wear them with filly blouses.

That was before I discovered cheesecloth grandad shirts and my dads old ankle length mac. God, I must have looked a sight

paolosgirl · 18/02/2005 20:53

frilly even

starlover · 18/02/2005 22:25
