Hi all,

Inspired by Nappybaglady's plans to go round the world with her kids we are planning to do the same.

In order to fund this jaunt we'll need to rent our house out to holidaymakers while we are away.

What would you pay (per day or per week) for:

A stunning 5 bedroom (3 ensuite) house in Cape Town (will easily sleep 6 adults and 2 kids).
It has truly beautiful views from a large patio with BBQ
In the heart of the Durbanville Winelands
A swimming pool
Beautifully decorated throughout
Comes with cleaner/cook
Has everything you might need if you have a baby
15 minutes from the beaches
Airconditioning in some of the bedrooms
Sandpit and playarea for littlies

Oh. Yeah. The phone. Provide the number before people come, so they can give it to friends. I don't know how you can make it possible for people to make international calls without stinging you for the cost, but any solution here is good. And if you can include broadband (wireless maybe? so people have to bring their own computers?), that is very good.

Thank NQC - we have broadband but the phone is a tricky one. Telecoms here are antiquated to say the least, the most I could offer is a phone for incoming calls. The house will definitely be fully equipped for entertaining - and all of our own things will be removed and kept safe in the cellar. The cleaner lives on the property (obviously not in the house) so there would be no reduction for not using her, it would be the clients decision if they didn't want her to come in. Hmm, can you enable free outgoing calls and leave details of some pay as you go sort of service? The phone-calls thing is always a big hassle with rental houses. I have made non-international long-distance calls and left more money than enough to cover it, when I really needed to, but I realise that sort of system is very open to abuse.

My Mum has a beautiful 4 bed house house in Hout Bay (on Roytaplaats sp?) which she rents out. I'll find out how much she charges
