why don't you buy something for both of you instead? we know men are useless at surprises (most of them anyway, that includes own dh!), so a treat for both of you could be nice?

Yes, a little leather photo holder to take a pic of me and the boys.

£50!!!! Lucky you. I got a christmas card one year that said "Oops - got it wrong again". His tack is "too commercialised - don't need a spe3cial day to say I love you" so never get a pressie although I do get him a card.

nope not at all!, he's in iraq and has had a shed load of stuff since he's been there so he's not having anything except a card!, I on the other hand expect at least a bunch of flowers!

Joolstoo · 08/02/2005 19:43

get real!

emmatmg · 08/02/2005 20:01

he won't even be getting a card.

It's all commercial over-hyped poop!

Of course if Dh would like to buy a lovely pressie that another thing

The whole "too commercialised, no pressie" thing only works if you do the big fuss and pressie on some other day though!!

I say jump on the band wagon. Have bought DH chocolate (his favourite thing in the whole world - after me!!)

Last year, he bought me a CD I wanted and left it in the CD player in my car. Drove into work with big, goofy smile on my face!!

nasa · 08/02/2005 20:22

NO, it's commercial nonsense - humbug

Cristina7 · 08/02/2005 20:26

No, no presents here either. We aren't formally romantic but buy each other little presents during the year: flowers for me, books for each other, DVDs.

My 5 year old, on the other hand, has just written a letter to a little girl from school asking her to marry him
