I need to park the car somewhere near the River Dart (they won't let me leave it there) for a week ...

We will then go to Cornwall and on the way back dh needs to take car and drive home while I stay in The River dart place.

So you're taking two cars, travelling down in convoy and going home seperately?

If you don't mind driving a bit further on to Plymouth, you are welcome to park it on our street We're a bit off the A38 though.

Can't you just find a street in Ashburton with no parking restrictions and park there?

Or are you worried about it being stolen / people thinking it's abandoned ?

I would prefer to plan before hand as we are all on our way to Cornwall and don't want to be faffing around

Don't know about Newton Abbott, but at my local station it's £10 a day to park so would be expensive! Why not take two cars to C'wall (for the sake of another hour-and-a-half or so of driving) and then just come back separately?
