Black Pudding, yum or yuk?

I just wondered how many people actually eat it. I personally can't stand it, not that I have ever tasted it. I won't cook it either. If DH cooks it, then I won't eat anything that might have touched the black pudding. DS loves it, but DD won't eat it, then again, she is a fussy little eater anyway.

I'm not a fan of marmite either but given the choice of black pudding, marmite or liver, I'd have to choose marmite.

Liver and onions needs a rich onion gravy and bacon. MMMmmmmm! Haven't had this in years.

RudyDudy · 07/02/2005 19:33

My DS loves liver (as do I) - atm feed it him about once a week as I reckon it won't last!

My MIL used to cook heart, one day DH asked her what it was. Once he found out, he then asked did it used to go 'bebom, bebom, bebom' (heart beat sound!) She never bought it again!

I had the most blissful 'black pudding and chorizo salad' while out at lunch with a few other MNers the other day. Am drooling at the very thought.

Liver!!! yuk, reminds me of school dinners

as for black pudding, I cant say i've tried it but i imagine i wouldn't like it

I cut up a kidney once in a Humna Biology lesson at the age of 11. The teacher asked if anybody knew what the kidneys did in the body. Nobody replied so he said "sniff them" - I did ... and have never eaten kidneys since.

One of my mums specials when i was growing up was tripe soup - makes black pudding, marmite and liver all seem like fine cuisine!!

ScummyMummy · 07/02/2005 21:54

lucy5 · 07/02/2005 22:26

Yum, especially the way the French make it, although I have absolutely no inclination to know whats in it.

lucy5 · 07/02/2005 22:27

mmm and liver and marmite.

paolosgirl · 07/02/2005 22:46

Yum yum to black pudding, haggis, tongue (cold tongue and salad = tea at granny's)and white pudding!!
Draw the line at tripe - mum used to have it boiled in milk with onions. The house reeked of rancid flannel for days afterwards...
