Is there a law or anywhere I can go to get it stopped. We have the windows shut and a fan on to try to drown out the noise but it isn't working.

They just leave it outside to bark from between 11.30 pm - 1.00am . The dog will bark 2-3 times at intervals during these times. It is driving me mad. DD keeps being woken up too.

Since we have moved in they won't speak to us, so it I can't even approah them. Nothing we have done. They wanted to buy our garage off the previous owners and they declined and fell out.

contact the environmentall health dept of your local council and they'll contact them, ask you to keep a record of the barking and then if no better can take various steps but I'm not sure what.

We had this prob last yr and the dog warden just told the owners to shut the dogs up. No probs since then.

Can it be done without them knowing it was us, that have complained. I really don't fancy having an argument with them.

Yes, you tell the E.H people who you are, but they don't tell the owners who's complaining.

isnt the first rule of good neighbours to actually talk to them first, in a reasonable manner?
there is no argument.
their dogs are barkign after 11.30 pm and it is annoying and upsettingn for your family.

fryalot · 16/07/2008 16:27

it works for me

TheRealPhartiphukborlz · 16/07/2008 16:29

are you private home owners?
i.e no housing association or council who you can turn to?

Pharti, the council willhelp irrespective of whether you're in private or council housing. It's one of the things we all pay our council tax for.

if we were on speaking terms then perhaps I would go around there.

They also do things like have bonfires during the day when my washing is out.

I don't know whether I would consider them to be reasonable people. t.b.h
