Would you sell 2nd hand toddler knickers on a carboot..? .

Most are immaculate having had little or no wear BUT are now to small for dd...thought of just bagging them for recycling iykwim BUT wondered....would people be interested in buying them on a car boot..? Just im having one soon and not sure about what to do iykwim...Just wondered if they would get more use...

Personally, I wouldn't but different strokes for different folks.....

Do you mean the pretty ones that go over the top of a nappy when they are wearing dresses?

nervousal · 29/06/2008 21:02

I've sent unopened packs of pants to charity shops before - but wouldn't donate ones which have been worn. Would YOU wear second hand knickers? If not then why should you expect your kids to?

girlandboy · 29/06/2008 21:02

No, and I wouldn't buy any either.

shhhh · 29/06/2008 21:07

No I mean knickers....

nervousal, I don't expect my lo's to...thats what I said BUT I was mearly checking if there was people who would iykwim...Financially it may only be some peoples options...

Right ok, so if the answer is no and I guess not to send them for recyling...am I ok to just bin..? Never really thought about it..!

What about giving them to a local nursery? I imagine they need a lot of spares!!

Preschool take them Shhhh

I would wear second hand knickers, I don't see how I can be pro reusable nappies, but not second hand knickers. My kids have very few new underwear

Spidermama · 29/06/2008 21:10

It's so wasteful, isn't it, to throw away little barely worn knickers and pants just because they're in contact with the taboo bit of the body. I wouldn't sell them but would certainly freecycle or try to pass them on. I would happily use friends old cast offs for my kids too. I don't see a problem. They'll be well washed so there's no point being precious and uptight about it.

nervousal · 29/06/2008 21:10

local nursery is a good idea - or somewhere like women's aid?

colditz · 29/06/2008 21:12

Local preschool definitely take them

girlandboy · 29/06/2008 21:13

Personally, my dc's old knickers ended up as cloths for cleaning the glass on my log burner. Once dirty, they then got flung into the fire!

ChasingSquirrels · 29/06/2008 21:13

I, and my friends, have borrowed kids pants when they have had accidents at other houses. Wouldn't you do this either?
Put them on the car boot, if they don't sell give them to a nursery.
Frankly, there is weirder stuff at car boots.

Posted this thread x2.. Apologies...

Thanks for the replies, thought it was going the wrong way for a moment BUT I have been given a great idea of a local nursery and even women aid (thanks nervousal...).

FS and sm, yes its a shame to see them go to waste esp as like I said most a new..Mil is obsessed with buying them for dd and they also seem to be multiplying in the drawers..lol!! Thanks again x

No I wouldn't sorry.

DD2 got all new pants I wouldn't let her wear her sisters old ones

Divastrop · 29/06/2008 21:22

i wouldnt buy 2nd hand knickers for my dc,simply because they are so cheap to buy but i dont object to them coming home from school/nursery in ones that have been donated when theyve had an accident.
