Those who have a blog as a hobby turned into passive income?

Just curious, any one out there who made a blog as a hobby and then turned into passive income as a side hustle?

If so you do you earn much? how did it start? How did you get your views?

I am very new to this and I am considering to whether to make one. I am currently working full-time and I can see if I can find time to do one as I have young children of my own.

Thank you.

I have one that earns pocket money. Like 100ish a month through adsense. It is a hobby blog with help and advice around the particular hobby, not a personal blog. I've never really promoted it, it just eventually ranked on Google and people find it through google searches. I'm sure if I did more it would probably be more successful but I'm a serial hobbyist and lost interest. I haven't touched it in years now, probably 4 or 5 years now. I'm not sure how easy it is to rank now, with the rise in AI and AI summaries on Google more people are just reading the summaries rather than actually clicking into websites.

My advice would really depend on what your blog is about. Personal blogs are more likely to need to be highly promoted by social media and would need you to have a large following to be successful in any meaningful way. Getting paid subscribers and using substack or patreon would be more a more usual way to monetise personal blogs.
