Anyone know of any photo competitions for amateurs?

I've taken a shot that I think is pretty good and I'd like to enter it into an amateur photo comp....does anyone know of any current ones? It's a shot of ds and dh in the distance on the beach.

I googled looking for competitions but the ones that came up were mainly old ones and all looked a bit intimidating!

I've added it to my gallery - tell me if it's good enough or whether I'm deluding myself (expecting some good old MN bluntness)...

Sorry, i dont' know of any competitions though.

The camera magazines usually run them - have a browse at them on the shelves

I wonder though if to professionals there are all sorts of things they would do that I didn't can't so that it looks good to the relatively untrained eye?
Nothing to lose by entering it into a few comps I guess!

It's going on my wall for sure regardless!
