For free too.

Trouble is I don't know if we can go

Dh not sure if he can get away from work next week, as it would mean Monday and Tuesday out of the office, and probably an overnight stay in London as I suspect it will be a late finish.

I am supposed to work Tuesday, but it would be possible to change my days and I'd just have to do an extra day in school holidays - but definitely doable for me.

Now need to work on DH!

If DH can't oblige, ask a friend.

PortAndLemon · 24/06/2008 20:15

Take a friend instead?

Hulababy · 24/06/2008 20:18

Was thinking that too! Trouble is it was his friend/work contact who has offered him the tickets - as he and his wife are away and can't go. So, not sure I'd be able to take them on. Would then have to find someone who can get away from work, and who has spare cash for traevl to and from London, plus overnigth stop, to come too.

And what would dress code be - how smart would I have to be?

Bet DH can't make it anyway!

Meryl Streep, Pierce Brosnan, Colin Firth to begin with.

PortAndLemon · 24/06/2008 20:31

Slightly glam evening-out-at-nice-restaurant level clothing generally fine for a premiere if you are an Ordinary Mortal.

Hulababy · 24/06/2008 20:35

Hmmm - have a black dress that mght be suitable, with a bit of dressing up with accessories.....perhaps.

DH! Why can't he just know now!

Just trying to work ut logistics to see if we could get there and back in the day - trying to think what time we could realstically get back to aa London station by, following the flm, in order to get home. I think last train to Doncaster (none to Sheffield) is 23:30 - is that doable though? Hmm

What time does the film start?

PortAndLemon · 25/06/2008 12:56

It's only six minutes from Leicester Square (if that's where the premiere is) to King's Cross on the Tube, and they should still be running every three minutes at that time. Obviously you have to get to the tube station, get to the platform, etc., but if you are out of the film by 23.00 you should have loads of time to catch your train back.
