I'm new to Mumsnet and I feel a bit left out as I don't know what most of you are saying. It's like a new language.

What's a DD, DS, DW, DH????????
sometimes you even put numbers after them, whats that all about?

DD1, DS2?????

Please can you write me out an idiots guide to talking on Mumsnet.

DS is darling son

DD is darling daughter

DS1 or DD1 mean their first son or daughter

DS2 or DD2 mean their second son or daughter etc etc

You'll soon get the hang of it

fullmoonfiend · 20/06/2008 13:47

dd - dear daughter, ds - dear son, dh - dear husband dp - dear partner. The numbers refer to more than 1 child. dd2 (second daughter etc)

HTH

DD.....darling daughter
DS.....darling son
DW ....darling wife

When you see DD1 etc it's just darling daughter number 1

OverMyDeadBody · 20/06/2008 13:48

don't confuse her DA!

youcannotbeserious · 20/06/2008 13:48

Hi Tas - CHeck the Acronyms list...

but, DD is dear daughter, DS dear son... dear wife, dear husband - DP is dear partner...

the numbers are when there is more than one child.

For those with complicated lives... there are also DSD and DSS (step daughters and sons)

I don't get out much either!!

fullmoonfiend · 20/06/2008 13:48

OverMyDeadBody · 20/06/2008 13:52
