Would a house that only had access to one bedroom through another teenagers bedroom be a problem??? They would be girls and boys. I know teenagers need privacy etc am forseeing doors slammed in faces -"no you can't come through" etc etc etc.

I think it would probably end in lots of grumping, tbh.

Well I've only got the one, but he is very keen on his privacy so I think you might well find it caused a lot of arguments.

Thanks for that, would be a lovely house though other than that small problem. Said bedroom has got access from the outside though. Dp is worried about dd(who is only 3)have her own door as a teenager, he's worrying about boyfriends already

If you're thinking that far ahead, would there be any way to get a builder in to change things round? You could get rid of the outside door so long as it's not a fire exit. And depending how the rooms are arranged you might be able to out in another door, or make a corridor?

Uriel · 18/06/2008 14:00

Yes it would be a massive problem to most teenagers. Not least because you have to arrange the room to leave access to the second bedroom.

mumblechum · 18/06/2008 14:15

Isn't it a bit unlikely that you'd be in the same house in 10 years time anyway?

MilaMae · 18/06/2008 14:50

True mumblechum at what age do they get territorial, shouty and slam doors???? When would it become a problem???

DS started to get bothered about nudity etc about 9ish, but apart from that he wasn't territorial about his room, so you're probably safe for a while!

Definitely a bad idea for teenagers! My bil had his only bathroom through a bedroom, the room was large enough to build a partition wall and create a corridor to the bathroom. He did it himself with help from fil, wasn't that hard. It even looked good
