Sorry if this isn't the right place to ask, I'm looking for some advice on council housing/bidding.
I've finally plucked up the courage to leave my son's dad after years of emotional, sexual and mental abuse. Me and my son have stayed in the shared home (rented) with ex partner, just because I'm not local, and we have no where to go. I put myself on the council register back in my home town (60 miles away) where my parents are, I was accepted.
Basically, I was assigned band 2 in Jan, I've been bidding every week. Had a call last week to say to say I was featuring, and that I just had to wait for a call from the HA. Friday came and HA called and asked me some questions. Then I had an email to say that I was being provisionally offered the house and should I need help with the rent advance (I definitely do) to apply at my local council for a grant which I have done.
My question is, if I've been provisionally offered, is this guaranteed?? And how long can I expect to wait until they get back in touch with a viewing date?? And how long after viewing could I expect to get the keys?? Sorry I know it's been a long post. I'm just quite anxious about it all and Google hasn't been much help with clear answers. Any experiences or knowledge on this topic please? Mostly to ease my worries.
Edited to add- on my homefinder account, I can still bid on houses, the property I've been allocated, says it's been let, but not to me 🙁
