How long after a head injury that needed to be glued can I safely dye my hair?

Don't laugh please, I'm looking like a tramp and need to sort my hair out.

I had a 3 1/2 inch gash glued together almost 3 weeks ago and it seems to have healed okay but is still really red, would I be a fool to use a permanent dye?

i would wait til the redness had dissipated. alot of dyes use ammonia/bleach which would irritate the wound and possibly set you back another couple of weeks healing as well as burning pain!

It's a nightmare I had highlights done the day it happened with the intention of putting an all over colour on after a couple of days to even them out, but obviously couldn't. They are now looking really really yellow. Ghastly.

I might invest in a headscarf. And I hear turbans are very 'in' right now....
