URGENT URGENT DS'S FISH HAS JUST DIED!!!!!

Quick someone have 15 mins before I have to pick up ds1 (5yrs). Have just discovered one of his fish that my MIL bought him for his birthday LAST WEEK has just pegged it!
Not quite sure what to tell him, I am waiting for dh to get home to remove it. Do I tell him straight away or do I try to distracyt him till dh gets home who will remove fish and explain a whole lot better that me. HE ONLY HAD IT FOR ABOUT A WEEK!!!!

The other thing that i remember my dad doing to my little sister was putting a sliver of carrot in and she didnt notice and it gave him time to get to the pet shop. He also nearly killed one and killed another by bleaching the tank. My mum got them out of the cleaned tank quickly and put them in a bowl and ran to the petshop to buy two more. When she arrived home one had survived and my sister was told that they had had babies. We dont have a good track record with fish, keep my dad in a seperate room , me thinks.
