When do you eat in the morning?

I struggle to eat in the morning but am trying to put on weight and want to start eating breakfast. I don’t usually have time to eat before I take my child to school and if I’m working I don’t eat until after 8pm when I’m finished, or I will start doing chores and end up just snacking during the day when I’m at home.

At what point in the morning do you eat breakfast?

At anytime I have 5 minutes to inhale some toast but I have a 6 month old 😂.
One thing I keep telling myself I must do (because I used to do it on my WFH days) - and one day shall (again)...
Is create a little lunch box for myself that can be eaten at any point of the day whenever I'm hungry or have a chance to get some fuel. Doesn't have to be breakfast food or lunch food, just a few things that I can put together and portion out that are there ready to go if I fancy them.

I have started having brunch, can do it between 11 and 12. Works for my schedule better. Then I aim to have a snack around 4pm to keep me going, then dinner when I can make it normally around 7pm sometimes later, then some supper maybe a yogurt bowl or whatever. I must add I do not get up early so brunch isn't too much to wait for me, but I tend to drink tea when I get up.

Nothing except a black coffee or 2 til 2/3 o’clock. I feel sick if I do.

Pretty much exactly the same here - if I eat before 11am I tend to feel sick. I'll have something like shakshuka - really easy to prepare the night before, just need to make the eggs and heat it up. Then I'll have yoghurt and seeds/fruit in the afternoon and then dinner between 6pm and 8pm depending on what I am doing that day. I drink herbal tea in the morning and then water in the afternoon, or maybe squash if I feel I want something a bit sweet.

Around 12/1 I have Greek yougurt & an Actimel, but only because I need to take medication that's better taken after food I never used to.

I'm trying to eat earlier in the evenings, but I'm just not ready for anything until 9pm.

A couple of cups of tea then I have a boiled egg and a pint of water around 10am. That generally means I don’t each much lunch but I’m bloody ravenous by tea time. And then it all goes to shit.

If you’re trying to gain weight I heartily recommend lying on the sofa of an evening mainlining cheese and chocolate. Works for me. Pah.

Im away out the house at not long after 5am and busy in work till I finish at 10an, Now some mornings it may feel like my throat is cut by 8am when Ill take a yoghurt or something smilier but usually I hold on till 12 ish and Ill start with fruit and yoghurt and move on to eggs or fish if still hungry

I dont eat to the clock. Eat when hungry and to my fill

I find the earlier I eat ,particularly carbs makes me eat rubbish food for the rest of the day.
So I don’t eat until 4pm ,quick snack and then protein meal about 6pm .

10 or 11. I don’t work in an office. When I did I didn’t eat breakfast. Can you prepare something the night before to take with you to eat when you get a moment?

EmpressaurusKitty · 15/01/2026 03:09

On normal days, overnight oats with yogurt, kefir, nuts, seeds & fruit when I get up, which is between 5 & 6am. It takes 5 mins prep the night before.

If it’s a gym morning, a protein snack after exercising.

Then main meal at 12 or a bit earlier, some fruit around 3 & nothing after that.

I know most people do it the other way round but I wake up hungry.
