First off, I’m not looking for medical advice and I will contact my gp first thing in the morning. I’m just wondering if anyone else has had a similar situation with perhaps non-typical symptoms.
Last Wednesday I got a call from the nursery to say that my little boy (3) was not himself and they were going to give him some calpol. Shortly afterwards they called again to say he’d been sick (I think mainly just the medicine coming back up). By the time I got there he was fast asleep and he slept for most of the day once we got home. Over the next couple of days he had a high temperature and was generally miserable but nothing terribly worrying. He seemed to pick up during the day and then would be unwell again at night. He also complained of headaches and had a cough/runny nose.
Over the last few days he’s been much better and went into school again this week, although I wouldn’t say he’s been 100% himself. He hasn’t had a temperature for a few days. Today when I picked him up he was complaining that his tongue was sore. I thought maybe it was something he’d eaten but over the course of the evening he seems to be developing blisters all over it (similar to “strawberry tongue”). Now I’m wondering if he’s had something in his system all along. Could he have bounced back for a couple of days and only be getting the strawberry tongue days after the other symptoms? He never had a rash. Thanks, sorry for the long post!
