Virgin Media phones - beware if you are travelling overseas.......

I have had a wonderful trip to Florida, got back today.

Horrified to discover massive phone bills on my and Dh's phones with Virgin Media due to not being informed that every missed call that goes to voicemail will be charged at £1 and that we should have turned off our voicemail before travelling overseas.

So effectively every time I went somewhere without DH and he called me to meet up again or vice versa it was costing a fortune even if I didn't hear the phone.

Also my phone switches to voicemail after 3 rings (which Virgin have just told me I could change if I contacted them grrrr - so by the time I got my hand to my phone in my bag or pocket it had already gone to voicemail and racked up another quid. more grrrrrrrrrrrrrs

I have called them up to beg for their mercy!! and to reassess this bill and I will hopefully get a call back about this tomorrow. I flaming well hope they take pity on us and accept that they should have told us before we went to switch off the voicemail.

BEFORE YOU GO ABROAD, DOUBLE CHECK AND GET IN WRITING HOW MUCH CALLS WILL COST YOU.

I have a £10 a month tariff usually, 100 mins and 100 texts which is more than enough.

If they don't sort it out I will be speaking to Richard. I just flew back on one of his planes and was going to email anyway to sing the praises of the cabin crew and ask him to provide them with more comfortable shoes!!! One of the flight attendants I was chatting to said her feet where killing her!!

This has put a bit of a downer on our great holiday, the bill is nearly £300.

"I had the time of my life"!!

I hyped myself up beyond belief and thought what if I'm disappointed. No chance, it was the most fantastic holiday, 3 weeks with the family, just being together and having fun, hotel was superb (I'm used to a tent in the rain!!) and everything was perfect.
