Can anyone explain to me, in laymans language what an I (eye?) Pod is. I know someone who would like one but have no idea what it is???

I am not of the computer generation so simple words are best for this Bunglie!!

I bought one each for my stepds (blue) and stepdd (pink) for Christmas and was rewarded with a major hug from both of them at the same time if that helps

JanH · 21/01/2005 14:20

I should think that would help a lot, tamum!

DS2 wanted one for Christmas but I talked him out of it and got a CD Walkman instead to be going on with - I think he is too young for one (from a security POV) even though half his friends seem to have them.

lou33 · 21/01/2005 14:21

Yes that is exactly what i send him off to do when we are on a fmaily holiday . How did you know?

tamum · 21/01/2005 14:22

Blimey, I would have said that was a bit young to be honest, I'd agree with you. He's only a year older than ds, and I wouldn't have got him one certainly. Stepdd is 27 and stepds 24, so I figured they were old enough to handle the responsibility

DHhadABJfromAbangkokLADYboy · 21/01/2005 14:22

So you did not do that then, Lou?

lou33 · 21/01/2005 14:24

well we considered it, but the camera packed up, so it didn't seem worth all the effort of making the kids line up behind dh and wave in the background again, they take so long to organise...

Bunglie, you are sooooo out of it. EVEN my mother has an ipod (doesn't actually know how to use it...but she's got one). First there was the vinyl lp, then there was cassette, then there was cd and now there is mp3. The ipod is a very cool little gadget made by apple that plays mp3 format music. Mp3 is a type of compression that is used on digitally recorded music. When you hear about people downloading songs off the internet, it's done in mp3 format.

Ipod are defiinitely here to stay.... at least until they invent a new format. They are almost half the price in the usa, so might be worth getting somone to bring one over if you are planning to buy one.

Bunglie · 22/01/2005 12:16

Sophia your Mum has one! I better get with the beat 'man'! Last to you told me 'Water Pistols' are "soo Yesterday" and now it is "Super dooper water poopers" (or something like that! How can I keep up?

Lou, I have a mental piccy of you and you family on holiday....best kept to myself!

Still have not worked out who you are MDHHBJIBFALB....any clues? (and details??)
