CARDIFFIANS - somewhere to stay this Saturday ?

My pal (a solicitor) and her 2 friends are going to the Tsunami concert in Cardiff on Saturday and they're looking for somewhere to stay. They've been told that they're not likely to find anywhere with thousands converging on the area. Any ideas of little guesthouse things or similar?

theres load ot guest houses on Newport Road, but you could also look at some of the hotels in the centre of town, as (depending on where abouts you are on newport road), it could be a bus jurney.
However, they could also stay at a hotel in Newport, its only about 25 minutes by train, its generally cheaper than cardiff to stay there. Theres also St Mellons Hotel, between Cardiff and Newport, which is a little expensive, but is lovely there (i got married there).
Have a look on the Great westen hotel web site, as there are a few in the area.

There's a Holiday Inn in the Bay - not much for a taxi into the town for the concert.

pixiefish · 20/01/2005 21:27

i used ti stay at the bronte hotel on newport road- just a stagger into own. that was years ago though. i stay in the holiday inn whenever i go down now (it'll probably be fully booked though as it's right next door to the stadium)

Try the Rhondda Heritage Park Hotel - about 30 mins by train from Cardiff and there's a train station about a mile from it ... worth a try
