Parking Ticket - and she'd paid and displayed!

Essbee has just managed to pick up a £100 parking ticket despite paying and displaying and arriving back before the ticket ran out.

Presumably she will get off this - if so what does she have to do and
Does anyone fancy phoning up and giving them hell on her behalf?

no idea how you prove the ticket belongs to you though.

Round here you have to type in the number digits of your registration plate before the ticket is issued from the machine making proof easier... such a good idea.

Aaw essbee - poor you. This happened to us on our first day of our holiday one year. We stuck the ticket up but it fell off. We sent the ticket to the company with a letter and they let us off - I hope they do the same with you. x

i got a ticket for parking on double yellows with a blue badge displayed, my error was that i had tucked it into the corner of the windscreen and a couple of the numbers were hidden, my fine was 60 quid but reduced to 30 if paid within 14 days, traffic wardens take photos so check if a photo was taken, do not pay write in about it as i think you still get 14 days to pay after they have made a decision

Should send photocopy of both sides (front and reverse) as if there is a serial number on the reverse of the ticket (there usually is) the parking attendant should have made a note of it. That proves definitively that the valid tcket had been bought and displayed in the car. My local council asked for this because otherwise people could park together, buy one ticket between a group of cars and put any old ticket face down, and if they get a ticket send in a copy of the one valid ticket IYSWIM.

Oh and essbee - could take ages for them to get back to you, so make sure they have received your letter and that that freezes the 14 days so you don't end up paying double. Good luck

i got clamped in a car park while displaying blue badges,, the car park was'nt council owned, it used to be but had been sold and no sign posts up to say so.you had to pay even if disabled but it didnt say so anywhere i was so angry.

pooka · 22/01/2005 10:32

That's terrible.

I had this in a pay and display. Rang them up and they were very nice and just told me to send the valid ticket in (I kept a photocopy). They then sent me a letter cancelling the fine. My ticket had actually blown off the window as I shut my door - top floor of multi-storey so the inspector couldn't actually see it.
Hope it works out.
